"It can only swing it Tranmere's way"

With a lot of media speculation around what decision Tranmere Rovers forward James Norwood has to make, midfielder Ollie Banks believes that the arrival of Ishmael Miller could help the situation.

Norwood is currently out of contract in the summer and with the January transfer window in full swing, it could be Rovers’ last chance to receive a financial boost for one of the countries most in-form strikers.

The former Forest Green Rovers man has helped himself to 17 goals in League Two this campaign, the highest number in the top four divisions of the football pyramid.

Midfielder and teammate Ollie Banks believes that the arrival of the experienced striker, Ishmael Miller could persuade James Norwood to stay past the window or even better, sign the dotted line.

“It can’t be harming the situation, having another experienced striker alongside him,” Ollie Banks said.

“Miller coming in will only sway his decision the Tranmere way, so it hasn’t done it any damage put it that way,” he added.

Banks reiterated that there is not much that the players and fans can do to change a situation such as this.

“There nothing that us as players can really affect and the fans cant either, it is up to the individual involved and hopefully it means he stays and continues to bang the goals in”, Banks commented.

Banks is confident that Miller will bring the experience necessary to the dressing room and also praised his unselfishness.

“He is a good experienced player to have in the side, you can see that they have a good partnership already from that one week of training and that one game.

“He is very unselfish, he makes the runs and puts himself in the good positions so Nors (James Norwood) can do what he does which is important,” the midfielder said.
