Ben Woodburn moving to League One is currently off the cards

Liverpool attacker Ben Woodburn is likely to leave Liverpool on loan when squad return from the pre-season tour of the United States of America.


Woodburn has been the subject of speculation and reports suggesting he could move to League One to kickstart his career, according to Wales Online.


The Welshman has been linked to clubs in the third tier of English football over recent weeks including, Portsmouth, Coventry City and slightly closer to home, newly promoted Tranmere Rovers.


According to a source very close to the player, a move to League One is currently not a probability, due to higher clubs being interested in the teenager.





Woodburn did spend time towards the end of the 2018/19 campaign on loan at Sheffield United who achieved promotion to the Premier League.


The 19-year old, however, only managed to make eight appearances for Chris Wilder's Blades.


Despite, that there is a chance that Woodburn will get a second opportunity to prove himself in the Championship, with Hull City one club interested in securing the attacking midfielder on loan, according to the Hull Daily Mail.


Woodburn has been a part of both friendlies in England for Liverpool, playing in the second half against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford City, in split squads for the fixtures named by Jürgen Klopp.
